Keep Up the Pressure on Congressman John Faso

Congressman John Faso is still refusing to hold Town Hall meetings in his district.

The House of Representatives takes a recess for members to go back to their districts and meet with voters. In the past when Kirsten Gillibrand held this Congressional seat, she created many opportunities for constituents to meet with her. Her "Congress on Your Corner" events which she held at local grocery stores, became a model which is now used by numerous responsible and engaged members of Congress. Congressmember (now Senator) Gillibrand also published her schedule, so her constituents could see who she was meeting with and when and where those meetings would take place.

But Congressmember Faso refuses to set up Town Hall meetings in the district. Of course he isn't unique. Many Republican members of Congress are either not holding meetings, or ducking out of them early. All to avoid hearing people's anger at what the Republicans in Congress lead by Donald Trump are doing to healthcare, immigrants, women, school children and the environment.

People have been calling members of Congress in record numbers (see this article in the Daily Freeman). Our persistence is working. People have also been visiting district offices as well. We must keep up the pressure on John Faso and he needs to know that the people are watching him and they demand to be able to meet with him face to face at local Town Hall meetings.

Tell John Faso that he MUST hold Town Hall meetings with his constituents locally. He has proposed Tele-Town Hall meetings which will be tightly controlled and will not be a open exchange of ideas. Tele-Town Hall meetings are not acceptable.
